What waiting actually costs

Self assessment penalties escalate on this exact schedule. Every step is avoidable from today.

1 day late

£100, instantly

The fixed penalty lands the moment the deadline passes, even if you owe no tax at all.

3 months late

£10 a day begins

Daily penalties run for up to 90 days: another £900 on top of the £100.

6 months late

5% of the tax, or £300

Whichever is higher, added again at 12 months. Interest accrues on everything throughout.

Today

The step that stops it

A free, judgement-free call. We triage what is outstanding, file in the order that stops the most damage first, and appeal what can be appealed.

The longer you wait, the more it costs. So stop waiting.

Falling behind happens to good businesses: a growth spurt, an illness, an accountant who went quiet (if that is you, switching accountants is easier than it sounds). What matters now is acting fast, because late filing penalties escalate on a timetable.

  • Full review of everything outstanding, across HMRC and Companies House
  • Catch-up bookkeeping and accounts, however messy the records
  • Penalty appeals prepared where you have reasonable grounds
  • Payment plan negotiation with HMRC if you cannot pay at once

How many years back can you sort out?

As many as needed. We regularly handle multiple years of overdue returns. The first step is an honest picture of what is outstanding, which we build for you at no charge on the initial call.

Will I definitely have to pay the penalties?

Not always in full. Penalties can be appealed with reasonable excuse, and interest positions can sometimes be improved. We review every penalty on your account for appeal grounds.

My records are a mess. Is that a problem?

No. Reconstructing records from bank statements, invoices and marketplace reports is standard catch-up work for us. Bring what you have and we will do the rest.

What if I cannot afford the tax bill?

HMRC offers Time to Pay arrangements that spread the cost. Filing on time even when you cannot pay immediately reduces penalties, and we negotiate the arrangement for you.
